You Owe Me 02:42
Well the moon was so bright That the road looked white Through my windshield I was the only one able to tell He wasn't doing so well With one arm raised in a daze I was there when you fell And in this sweat pit Pushing through blood and spit I had to yell I said you owe you me Wish I could say it's the first time This isn't healthy But you know I'm on your side All those little mistakes Outweighed my headache And I told you The laughter was taking it's toll It was taking control Keep hanging on I know your grip is strong Keep playing the part And in this dust bowl Dive of a waterhole Yelling's a start I said you owe you me Wish I could say it's the first time This isn't healthy But you know I'm on your side Well I've been searching for a way to contain myself But it's hard. For I was brought up just to nod and not react Well I've been searching for a way to explain myself But it's hard. For I was brought up just to nod I said you owe you me Wish I could say it's the first time This isn't healthy But you know I'm on your side

Alkalyte 02:46
I strung the silk out of a spider I made a rope out of desire To hang you down that wishing well For your decent down into hell And you came afloat out on the nile In Africa you stayed awhile You went through all that darkness And still came up with a smile So I hope to see you spinning soon Around my ceiling fan It seems that I have learned to lie And I've yet to stretch out thin But all we know Is that you're not breathing And back at home They've stopped believing You gotta bring proof That there's nothing to lose With two arms tied in a rubber room We're both alkalytes for liking the trio From San Francisco to Chicago We'll follow the trail of smoke and coke We'll hit the road til we're flat broke So please lead yourself out of the jungle And make it out without a struggle You left a note that I should give to her But how long to wait wasn't quite clear You know suspense in killing me With my fingers through my skin Private eyes will take the time And try to find a hint But all we know Is that you're not breathing And back at home They've stopped believing You gotta bring proof That there's nothing to lose With two arms tied in a rubber room Well I paddled down the Acheron To guide you home I left a light on Of course I'm tired, it was in my sights I trust that you're just waiting til the time is right Then I climbed my way through ash and dust I swear the titans are here to help us Was this your plan, to go out in style? I must admit to you that they're all in denial But all we know Is that you're not breathing And back at home They've stopped believing You gotta bring proof That there's nothing to lose With two arms tied in a rubber room Oh no your face is turning blue I've heard chainsaws, jaws drop, queens This mantle's just for you Oh no your face is turning blue I've heard chainsaws, jaws drop, queens This mantle's just for you

Callie 02:39
Well even though it was far Yeah you still drove your car And picked me up from my job when I got fired And I cried on your shoulder Yeah and now that we're older I may be cheap, drunk and poor But I'm no liar Well I rave and rave I still remember the day When you took me to my first casino I went across the Pacific And across the Atlantic You're a one of a kind who likes to party I saw you topless one time Though you're a friend of mine I'd throw you down on the bed in a hurry oh oh oh Callie You're a hell of a girl If you remember this tune I'll be happy And your glory days are a long way away You're the heart of the town so don't go leaving You know we've had some setbacks But after all of our laughs We have to admit you have courage For you took the plunge And you were the first one To accept that spineless prick's hand in marriage Well you can't fool me and I'm sure you'll agree That your favourite mistake is your daughter And it's no excuse That the condom was loose For now you're home every night at six for dinner And we knew for sure His balls would make a girl And you can bet all our sons will try to bang her oh oh oh Callie You're a hell of a girl If you remember this tune I'll be happy And your glory days are a long way away You're the heart of the town so don't go leaving

Owl Eyes 02:21
Well I, I want to talk about boundaries I want to talk about how they always seem to be in my way And I, I want to talk about India I want to talk about how I thought no one could ruin my day Well we've been talking for awhile and I think that we have finally had a breakthrough uh oh But an hour's way too short To unload, repair, rebuild and sort Well I, I just don't think I can pay you I just can't pay you enough for taking months to free my cares How about I, how bout I pay you in compliments? How bout I tell you that I'd string up his guitar with your precious hair? Well we've been talking for awhile and I think that we have finally had a breakthrough uh oh But an hour's way too short To unload, repair, rebuild and sort I think they're back again I swear to god I swear they said to me oh oh You're crazier than Gatsby Lend me your ears and cut your fingers You see, you see that's why I wear bandages It passes time because they keep me up at night and my mind hurts And I, and I even tried ear plugs. I even went as far as burying my head deep in the dirt And even though it's been awhile my whole neighbourhood keeps calling me a psycho uh oh And the laughing I can take It would just be nice to get a break Why can't you hear them too? I swear to god I sweat they said to me oh oh You're crazier than Gatsby Lend me your ears I swear it's an emergency We're in the clear It's time to listen carefully Just pick up those sheers and cut your fingers

Wish I could be a damn good listener I could have saved you that night I try to tell myself there was hope or at least something similar But I know my lies are white Well we put ourselves in a brand new room With locked windows and doors All we've found so far are expectations, no hesitations yet And within our reach I can't believe The sound you sent to the floor We both grabbed the walls and went for it all As soon as our lips met And with your hands holding mine I moved mine up your sides I won't be scared at all I'll be the first one to call And sign up to be your pall bearer I'll keep my head up tall Trust your body won't fall You'll find me up in the front right corner I kept a straight face for years I even found you in tears And now I'll be the best gravedigger And bury me please Because it should have been me I'll dig six feet in an hour We positioned ourselves accordingly With every single word that we've read And I imagine you with concentration I'm constantly awaiting your voice It took a whole day one time just to say goodbye I still remember what was said If the coffin was open, I'd have you taken without making a noise My hands ran through your hair It was like you were there These arms are yours, your eyes are mine x3 I won't be scared at all I'll be the first one to call And sign up to be your pall bearer I'll keep my head up tall Trust your body won't fall You'll find me up in the front right corner I kept a straight face for years I even found you in tears And now I'll be the best gravedigger And bury me please Because it should have been me I'll dig six feet in an hour

Did you have a good time? I'd sure call it a party Even though I was late We turned it up, we will always make time Leave your day at the door We're not talking bout money You've got a lot on your plate So stop asking for more And I swear you were punk Classic rock is for my father I know I lost my place But I still remember when we took it to the grave I couldn't tell you were drunk I bet it takes a lot of practice Of course I'll always be proud Just tear yourself from the crowd And you don't have to tell me time's going by fast Cuz I know And I can definitely assure you that I got a lot of things On the go Whoa oh oh oh The things I know This is a rant not a rave Though the bottle's entertaining You've got all that rage And it's building up, yeah it's almost to the top Take a pic if you can And say good-bye to your twenties You'll be a family man If she slows you down we will understand And you don't have to tell me time's going by fast Cuz I know And I can definitely assure you that I got a lot of things On the go Whoa oh oh oh The things I know I might not be the same whoa oh oh We know how fast people can change We might not look the same whoa oh oh We know how fast people can change

Convinced I'm never gonna leave I beg for mercy, I'm on my knees I set my goals up to high I gotta learn how to fall before I learn how to fly And I know a guy He's got a bad attitude Just a miserable fuck With nothing to do But sit around and curse the girl His job, his mom and even the world A shoa no no, a whoa no no And this other guy He got a brand new car And he bought some friends With his credit card Are you happy now? Is everything fine? So you're living in paradise But nothing's going right I think, life is wasted When all, we do is chase For everything, we're told we want Lock my doors to explore the obvious Am I searching for answers, that just aren't there? Am I searching for answers when I really don't care? My tank is low, my spirits are high There's a fork in the road, I'll take my sweet ass time A whoa no no, a whoa no no And my friend's new girl Is always nagging for shit With her long black hair And an ass that won't quit Are you happy now? Is everything fine? So you're living in paradise But nothing's going right I think, life is wasted When all, we do is chase For everything, we're told we want Lock my doors to explore the obvious Your life is so predictable Your thoughts are so acceptable Everything we're told we want Lock my doors to explore the obvious Almost, too much and not enough I see no one here that I can trust Everybody's going away I think, life is wasted When all, we do is chase For everything, we're told we want Lock my doors to explore the obvious Your life is so predictable Your thoughts are so acceptable Everything we're told we want Lock my doors to explore the obvious

about

The Stragglers would like to thank Chris Forrest and Synicalist Records, 331 arts for our music video, Nigel Bagley, Don Little, Jill Dombroski, Sherry Kimble, the Bovine Sex Club, Just Another Punk Show on CHRW, Randy Burk, Pouzza Fest and the mixed tapes we grew up on. To our older fans, this album cover may come as a surprise. It was initially rejected by the CD company. Well no one listens to CDs anymore anyways so they can eat it. You Owe Me is about being in a band, Alkalyte is about being a fan of Alkaline Trio, Callie is a fictitious name but based on a true story, Alualu is about aggression (the title is named after a DT in the NFL), Owl Eyes is a character in the novel The Great Gatsby, These Arms Are Yours is a love song, The Things I Know was written after a friend's 30th birthday party and Explore the Obvious is a cover song. We are proud to say we have a mutual respect with the Sloppy Meateaters.
